My name is Laura Lavoie and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in Denver, Colorado. I received both my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. Prior to working in private practice, I worked as a therapist at the Eating Recovery Center in Denver, a hospital that specializes in the treatment of eating disorders. I am passionate about helping others find peace, self acceptance, and self love to create a life that is meaningful and satisfying. The world we live in can create a sense of internal chaos and disconnection from that which truly speaks to our spirit. It is easy to lose sight of what we truly value and spend our time and energy “keeping up” with vague perceptions of what it means to be “successful.” My work is to help my clients clear away the clutter and refocus their energy on that which enriches their life. By increasing self awareness, we can put an end to unhealthy habits, patterns, and relationships to create a way of living that is nourishing to our body, mind, and soul.
In my private practice, I specialize with issues surrounding eating disorders, emotional eating, body image issues, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and low self worth.
In addition to providing individual counseling, I provide support groups and workshops in Denver focused on increasing connection, self compassion, self worth, and positive body image.
